John Boyne is the author of the boy in the striped pajamas. He is a Irish book writer, he published The Boy In The Striped Pajamas in 2006. One thing to know about John Boyne is he was aware of the fences that his country had 'As an Irishman growing up in the 1970s and 1980s, I was only too aware of the divides --- the fences --- that existed in my own country, and that caused violence and killing for families throughout Northern Ireland for too many years."(TeenReads). "Since a very early age he used to devour major literary works like The Count of Monte Cristo, Robinson Crusoe and Treasure Island. At the age of twelve he developed a keen interest in writing. Therefore, he set out to major in English Literature from the Trinity College, Dublin. Then he studied creative writing at the renowned institution in Norwich, the University of East Anglia. Here he earned the Curtis Brown prize for his literary contribution.
